Northern-Irish software firm First Derivatives is to hire 50 people as part of the company’s two-year graduate programme.

The graduates will be taken on through the company’s Options Programme, which it describes as a “fast-track consulting programme”.

Successful candidates will be initially based at First Derivatives’ head office in Newry but will also gain experience at client locations in London, New York, Hong Kong and other financial centres around the globe.

During the Options Programme, candidates will have the opportunity to work across a range of fields including finance, IT, business consultancy, marketing and operations.

Those who successfully complete the two-year programme will be considered for a full-time career with First Derivatives, the company said.

First Deriatives is looking to recruit graduates from a range of degree disciplines, including, but not limited to, business, law, engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, marketing and languages.

The company, which provides services and support to financial services and technology industries, reported a 27pc rise in pre-tax profits to £5.64m sterling for its financial year ended February 2010.
