There’s an afternoon event next Wednesday, 31 August at the National College of Ireland in the IFSC for job seekers keen to hear about the opportunities available in the IT sector.
Called ‘Find your Silver Lining’, this free event will allow those attending to meet experts, learn about the companies recruiting and the type of skills that are required. They can then register for a free college course to acquire these skills.
Jim Cuddy from Enterprise Ireland is speaking about the agency’s recent ‘IT’s Happening Here’ campaign, highlighting the thousands of jobs available in Irish software companies.
IT recruitment specialist John Tormey will give an overview of the jobs market, the types of companies that are hiring and the particular skills they require.
National College of Ireland will advise on the free re-skilling opportunities in cloud computing and web technologies that are available to people who are unemployed, under the Springboard programme.
And attendees will hear from five IT professionals, all with companies that are currently hiring, about what exactly they do on a day-to-day basis and what people can expect if they are working in this area.
The companies involved include iQuate, Citrix, Realex Payments and Jam Media, all of whichare currently recruiting.
