Glanbia to create 90 jobs in Dublin and Monaghan

13 Dec 2013

Ninety jobs are on the way at Glanbia, as the dairy food company is to build a new production facility in Monaghan and open a new EMEA headquarters in Dublin to co-ordinate exports.

Forty of the jobs will based at the new Monaghan facility, which will produce standard and fortified ultra heat treated (UHT) milk and cream products for export to markets in Europe, China and the Middle East.

Glanbia, the maker of Avonmore and Premier dairy products, is expected to open the facility early in the New Year.

The remaining 50 jobs will be at the new Dublin headquarters, which will co-ordinate exports of Glanbia’s sport nutrition brands. Those jobs include positions in the company’s ingredients and business units.

Glanbia is based in Kilkenny and currently employs 2,000 people in Ireland.

Richard Bruton, TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, said the 90 new jobs are an example of the growth in the food sector.

Glanbia said the new jobs follow increased collaboration between the Irish and Chinese governments. Taoiseach Enda Kenny had led an Enterprise Ireland trade mission to China in March 2012.
