As 2015 winds down, you’d have thought that most companies would sit back and take stock of another year in existence. Well, the tech industry, in particular, isn’t that way inclined.
More than 300 jobs were announced this week, with Infosys (250) reminding us all just how much the world of fintech is expanding. Elsewhere, insurance site InsureMyHouse (50) and taxi technology firm iCabbi (20) also ensured yet more seasonal cheer.
Speaking of jobs announcements, actually, Manpower’s latest survey of Irish employers made for some interesting reading. According to its pool of interviewees (620 companies, to be precise), confidence is high that the early months of 2016 will see even more workforce growth.
Pharma jobs in Ireland
This is particularly true in the pharmaceutical sector, with the outlook seemingly euphoric.
“The pharmaceutical sector is expected to enjoy the strongest performance as demonstrated by recent job announcements from companies like Pfizer and Regeneron, which will bring a significant boost to the sector,” said Manpower’s Cara O’Leary.
Elsewhere, DCU’s revamped Innovation Campus – known as DCU Alpha – is planning to support 100 businesses and 800 jobs over the next three years, primarily focused in IoT.
Among the first companies to create new jobs is Irish start-up Neosfar, which has announced 30 new jobs at a new state-of-the-art facility.
