Family-run Irish business Kilkenny Group has announced plans to increase its staff by the end of next year in order to support its growing business both in stores nationwide and online.
A total of 60 jobs will be created, increasing the number employed by the company to 275. As well as new positions in sales, retail and administration in stores around Ireland, Kilkenny Group will also be recruiting new employees for its distribution and online operations.
Over past year the company has increased its retail presence, having opened four new stores across Ireland, and plans to open three more over the course of the next year. The group has also invested heavily in the expansion and relaunch of its online store.
Supporters of the Irish crafts industry for almost 50 years, Kilkenny Group encourages consumers to ‘buy Irish’.
“As an Irish company, we are delighted to be creating such levels of employment despite the current retail landscape,” said CEO Marian O’Gorman. “Irish consumers are recognising the importance of buying Irish and there has never been a greater need to support indigenous craft and businesses. We foresee a number of factors as contributors to our growing business success over the next 12 months, including an increased number of suppliers in store, as well as consumer support for ‘brand Ireland’.”
