In our employer insights series, Lars Holzman, director of engineering at TripAdvisor Ireland, reveals the jobs the travel website is looking to fill: from graduate engineers to lead and management roles.

Holzman helped set up an engineering hub in Dublin about a year ago, with the purpose of recruiting top-tier engineering talent into TripAdvisor.

The idea was to take the Dublin engineers and, in a peer-to-peer way, create a relationship with the global operation that saw 1.25bn unique visitors in the first quarter of 2014.

“We’re looking for engineers at every level,” Holzman said. “Everything from your really great graduates (…) right up lead and management roles.

“One of the things we’re really excited about here, especially now that we have a team of engineers that we put together in the last year, is we’re looking to bring in really talented, technical leads and managers.”

TripAdvisor is also looking for engineers who are really passionate, with a good background in computer applications.

“That combination of passion and speed with the highly technical background is key.”
