The employment market is improving in Cork, with multinationals there looking to hire professionals with languages, customer service and IT skills, according to Manpower.
“Businesses’ confidence [in Cork] is growing despite the operating challenges faced, and as a result we are seeing more companies looking to hire on a permanent basis than 12 months ago,” said Amanda Johnston, Manpower Cork branch manager.
“Some employers continue to be cautious offering assignment opportunities of six up to 12 months which can then evolve into permanent contracts.”
Permanent opportunities currently available with Manpower include: IT support, customer service, seller support agents and operations managers’ positions, some of which require languages skills (Danish, Dutch, Flemish, French German, Italian, Spanish or Swedish), a track record of customer service experience and an Internet savvy profile.
“In today’s world of work, employers are not only looking for specific skill sets but also for individuals who are passionate about what they do” Johnston added.
