SAP/Business Objects creates 75 new Dublin jobs

21 May 2010

SAP/Business Objects, one of the world’s leading providers of business software, is to commence recruitment of 75 staff in Dublin immediately. This will bring the number of people working at the company in Ireland to more than 1,000.

The company is opening a new software lab and some of the 75 jobs will be in functions that are new to SAP in Ireland, including the building out of the company’s Telesales eCentre and in technical support functions.

In October, Siliconrepublic.com reported that SAP intended to strengthen its investment in Ireland by some €1bn over the next 10 years, starting with a €3m refit of its Dublin headquarters.

“SAP/Business Objects is a key player in Ireland’s ICT sector and the commencement of recruitment of an additional 75 positions is welcome news,” said IDA CEO Barry O’Leary.

“SAP has a reputation as a growth and innovation-led company and since setting up its first operation in Ireland has repeatedly upgraded its mandate here.

“Current activities in Ireland include the provision of services and support for its customer base in EMEA and the US, and a software development lab in Dublin which develops next-generation business analytics software.

“Today’s commencement of recruitment marks a significant milestone for SAP/Business Objects as it will see its employment figures rise to over 1,000,” O’Leary said.
