Software firm Misys to create 35 jobs

21 Nov 2011

Software development company Misys is creating a new R&D team in Dublin, which will create 35 new jobs in the process.

The company develops software for the financial services industry and already employs more than 100 people in Dublin at two development centres.

Misys’ new R&D team will be made up of 25 people and an additional 10 software consultancy roles will also be created.

The roles require highly skilled software engineering professionals who have a degree and/or a Masters in computer science.

“The establishment of this operation in Ireland is a very exciting move for Misys,” said Robin Crewe, CTO of Misys.

“Our previous ventures into Ireland have been as a result of acquisitions of existing software companies and so this new Research and Development Operation marks an important milestone in the company’s business links to this country.

“The new team here in Dublin will work on the development of new products with additional functionality and new technology capabilities,” said Crewe.

Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland, believes this announcement demonstrates how Ireland can play a key role in contributing to the corporate technology road map of companies such as Misys.

“Today’s investment by Misys forms part of a growing cluster of companies using Ireland as a base to develop software products for the global financial services industry,” he said.
