Taoiseach Enda Kenny is expected to announce today the creation of more than 150 jobs in Galway by US multinational medical device maker Merit Medical.
Kenny is to attend the opening of a €20m facility in Parkmore as part of an investment supported by the IDA.
More than a third of the new jobs are geared toward graduates and the company is reportedly seeking to fill roles in manufacturing, operations support, and research and development, The Irish Independent reported.
Merit Medical, which has been in Galway for 16 years, employs 379 people at its Galway plant.
The company’s medical devices are used in cardiology, radiology and endoscopy.
