IDG Connect, a subdivision of research, technology media, event management, and venture capital player IDG, is to create 125 new jobs in Dublin by 2013. The IDG Direct operation, which has already hired 60 staff, will play a pivotal role in helping IDG Connect understand global buying behaviour.
The group is headed by general manager John Moran. The global head of Business Intelligence has already been recruited, and the organisation is looking to grow to around 125 positions by the end of 2013.
These will be across data analysis, campaign management and telephone research. Overall, the function of the new location will be to nurture and gain intelligence into IDG Connect’s database and deliver real insight into the global marketplace.
Since its recent inception, IDG Direct has already worked with 102 countries across 25 languages, and is looking to rapidly expand its capabilities over the next 12 months.
IDG Connect, a subdivision of International Data Group (IDG) has seen exponential growth over the last two years on the strength of its successful suite of demand and lead generation services.
These include research in more than 125 countries, affiliated content creation, along with a cross section of of high quality lead generation activities, such as account profiling and appointment setting.
“Since January, we have seen a very strong flow of investments from world-leading companies, and we are determined not only to ensure that this continues but also that these companies can create stronger links here and provide greater benefit to the economy,” said Richard Bruton, TD, Minister for Jobs Enterprise and Innovation.
“Today’s announcement that this dynamic company is creating 125 jobs here is great news for Dublin city centre and for Ireland. With the right decisions I am convinced that Ireland can provide greater stability for investors and create the jobs and growth we need,” Bruton added.
Billion-dollar company IDG evolved out of IDC which Patrick Joseph McGovern and his friend Fred Kirch formed in 1964. IDG publishes 300 magazines in 85 countries. Its five global product lines – Macworld, Network World, PC World, Computerworld/InfoWorld, ITworld and CIO – account for 175 of these titles.
IDG Connect is the demand generation division of IDG and offers global services in lead generation, lead nurturing, research and content creation for B2B marketers worldwide. Its white paper library of IT and business content was shortlisted for the PPA Awards in 2011.
Ireland’s core skills
This has been a bumper year for job creation in Ireland and yesterday IBEC-based IT industry group ICT Ireland said that more IT jobs have been created at this point in 2012 – some 4,000 jobs – than in all of last year.
