US tech start-up’s move into Dublin to create several new jobs

11 Oct 2021

US company Front, which has 300 employees across its San Francisco and Paris locations, is expanding to Dublin, where it already has a customer base.

San Francisco customer relationship management (CRM) start-up Front has said its upcoming expansion into Dublin will create several new jobs.

The company’s initial recruiting efforts will focus on sales, support, success and marketing. There will also be people required to work as solutions engineers.

Around 20 roles will be created in total, with 10 Dublin-based positions available immediately via the company’s website. The team will start in late 2021.

Front has plans to open an office in the city once it has its first hires on board. A further 10 roles will made available for remote workers across Europe in the coming months.

According to Front’s CRO Laurabeth Harvey, “We chose Dublin for many reasons. Since it’s home to many start-up companies, tech giants and universities, we can access a wide pool of talented candidates there. We are also thrilled to be growing our teams to support customers in EMEA time zones to give the best customer experience.”

Front already serves several Irish-based companies, including e-commerce start-up Pointy, edtech platform LearnUpon, AmazeOwl, Centus and the UX Design Institute.

“We are committed to investing in building out our go-to-market team in Dublin over the next year and beyond,” Harvey said.

Globally, the company’s clients include Shopify, Airbnb, Hulu, Lyft and Mailchimp. It has more than 7,000 in total.

In addition to its Irish expansion, Front is also opening a hub in Chicago. In 2018, it opened an office in Paris, where many of its engineers are based.

The company was first founded in France in 2013 by Mathilde Collin and Laurent Perrin. The following year, it moved its headquarters to San Francisco where its CEO and CTO participated in the start-up incubator programme at Y Combinator.

To date, Front has raised around $138m in venture funding from Sequoia Capital, Threshold Ventures and Uncork Capital.

The company also has a number of high-profile investors on its books including Atlassian’s Mike Cannon-Brookes and former president Jay Simons, Okta co-founder Frederic Kerrest, Qualtrics co-founders Ryan Smith and Jared Smith, and Zoom founder Eric Yuan.
