A new joint venture between US company ZAGG and a Co Clare firm is expected to create 140 jobs by the end of 2011, and a further 160 jobs by 2014 at an electronics facility in Shannon.
The Utah-based company, which is keeping quiet about the new venture, has said it will formally announce plans regarding a manufacturing facility in Shannon at a “PR event” in mid-April.
ZAGG makes accessories for electronic products, such as cases, screen protectors and headsets for mobile phones and other electronic products.
The company has recently moved into a 30,000 sq-foot facility in the Shannon Industrial Estate, from where it will serve its customers in Europe, Asia and Africa.
It is expected the joint venture will have 300 staff employed at the Shannon facility by the end of 2014.
This week, ZAGG reported that fourth-quarter revenue last year was US$29.3m, an increase of 157pc from 2009 and a 27pc sequential increase in comparison to the third quarter of 2010.
