10 hot job titles that barely existed 5 years ago (infographic)

7 Jan 2014

Technology and fitness have been the biggest drivers of today’s hot jobs, an infographic’s list suggests. Of the 10 jobs on the list that barely existed half a decade ago, eight of them are in tech.

The infographic by business social network LinkedIn that’s published on Visual.ly has been created using data of more than 259m LinkedIn members’ profiles to determine the top 10 most popular job titles that barely existed in 2008.

In top spot is iOS developer, followed by Android developer, jobs that have been boosted by Apple’s rollout of the iPhone on iOS in 2007 and the announcement of Google’s Android operating system also that same year.

Other tech jobs further down the list are social media intern, data scientist, UI/UX designer, big data architect, cloud services specialist, and digital marketing specialist.

The two fitness-related jobs on the list? Zumba instructor and Beachbody coach.
