Supply chain analytics firm Entercoms is to create 30 new jobs in Mallow, Co Cork, over the next three years as part of an investment that will provide a boost to the local economy.

Entercoms will be hiring specialised industrial engineers, operations research scientists, and business intelligence experts with programme management, supply chain management, demand planning and business analytics capabilities.

“The decision by Entercoms to choose Mallow as it European headquarters is very significant,” Ireland’s Minister for Research and Innovation Sean Sherlock, TD, explained.

“These jobs will provide a much needed boost to the local economy. This is the first time in many years that we have been able to attract high-end jobs and a European headquarters to the town.”

Established in 2004, Dallas, Texas-based Entercoms transforms the aftermarket supply chain to help companies improve operations, customer satisfaction and profitability.

By applying decision sciences, predictive analytics and broad industry expertise, Entercoms collaborates with customers to execute a unique strategy that supports business objectives.

“Europe represents a strong growth opportunity for Entercoms and tapping into the highly skilled labour pool Ireland has to offer will be a tremendous asset to help us gain market share,” said Gavin Murphy, vice-president and general manager at Entercoms.

Global expansion and R&D

“As the global economy gains momentum, we must be prepared to provide clients with our core intelligent services, regardless of where they’re doing business. Our new operation positions us to capitalise on opportunities with our existing client base while enabling us to launch and sustain our rapid expansion.

“Our partnership with the IDA made Mallow an easy decision for us and our plans with regard to research and development also merge nicely with the initiatives being driven by Minister Sherlock’s innovation brief,” said Murphy.

Today’s announcement comes in conjunction with the FDI mission of Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD, and Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland, to the west coast of the United States.

“Entercoms is a leading provider of aftermarket supply chain service support for companies in the industrial, medical, automotive and hi-tech sectors,” said O’Leary.

“The decision by Entercoms to establish its European headquarters in Mallow is very welcome news and further endorses Ireland as a leading location for companies to serve its EMEA customer base. From their new site in Mallow, Entercoms will be providing advice to their clients on business analytics, service operations and supply chain management. The IDA offers its continuous support to Entercoms as it grows its operation in Ireland,” O’Leary added.
