5 surprising companies hiring in emerging technologies

It’s March of the Machines this week, so we had a look at some surprising companies hiring in emerging technologies such as IoT, AI and machine learning.

It has never been a more exciting time to work in artificial intelligence (AI) or the internet of things (IoT).

There are so many career options available to those who want to pursue these emerging technologies, and successful candidates can make a real difference in how society uses technology.

But, while you might know that you want to work in AI or machine learning, you might be left wondering where exactly to start your job search.

What companies are hiring in that sector? What kind of jobs are out there for someone interested in AI, IoT or machine learning?

To celebrate March of the Machines at Siliconrepublic.com, we’ve delved into five companies currently hiring people to work with these emerging technologies all over the world.

Accenture

Accenture may be known as a global management consulting and professional services company, but it’s also at the forefront of cutting edge AI and IoT.

The company is hiring for a number of AI roles in Dublin alone, including: AI software developer, AI consultant, AI analyst and AI research software engineer. The company is also hiring for an IoT architect and for several other roles in emerging technologies.

Intel

Tech giant Intel has been at the forefront of IoT technology for a while, and the company is hiring plenty of people in emerging technologies to further expand within the sector.

In the US, the company is hiring product managers and an engineering manager in the Saffron AI solutions group, and is looking for an AI systems engineer in Oregon.

The company is also looking for several IoT Dev Tools engineers in Russia, and IoT security software engineers in India.

Dropbox

While you might not think of Dropbox as more than a file hosting service, it’s currently hiring a huge number of software engineers across various platforms around the world, including in New York, San Francisco and Israel.

In terms of emerging technologies, Dropbox’s machine learning group develops high impact solutions that affect millions of people. It’s currently hiring a machine learning engineer in San Francisco.

Fidelity Investments

Fidelity Investments is a big player in the fintech industry, aiming to make financial expertise broadly accessible and effective in helping people live the lives they want.

The finance company is currently searching for a principal data scientist with statistics, modelling, machine learning and health IT in Boston. There is also an AI manager position available in New Mexico.

U-blox

As an IoT connectivity company, U-blox is often looking for top talent in the realm of emerging technologies.

Currently, it’s hiring a number of engineers in various countries, including integration engineers, associate engineers, test engineers and software design engineers.
