A division of the Datalogic Group is to create 30 new jobs in Dublin with the establishment of a new EMEA HQ, shared service and customer management centre in Dublin.
As part of an IDA Ireland-supported investment, Datalogic ADC, will create several immediate jobs before eventually reaching 30 people.
The investment is creating employment opportunities for accountants, accounts payable/receivables, order management and inside sales personnel.
The Dublin operation will play a strategic role within Datalogic ADC, streamlining its EMEA processes providing an optimum sales/marketing service to customers.
"We are delighted to be establishing our new EMEA HQ in Dublin and are confident that Ireland has all the necessary elements to assist us in driving our European growth," said Bill Parnell, Datalogic ADC CEO.
“Ireland’s global recognition as a centre of excellence for shared services, together with the presence of other technology companies here were all factors which influenced our decision.
“We are confident that this strategic location will allow us to strengthen our European customer relationships, propelling our business to even greater success," Parnell said.
Datalogic ADC’s range includes in-counter and on-counter point of sale scanners, general purpose and ruggedised handheld scanners, rugged mobile computers, industrial PDAs and vehicle mount computers.
Solutions for applications in several sectors include healthcare, hospitality/entertainment, manufacturing, retail, services and transportation and logistics.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, TD, said the Government’s plan to reach the levels of employment and economic growth Ireland needs identifies a number of key sectors where as an economy it has significant potential.
“One of these is business process outsourcing, and we will implement a series of changes in 2012 to make it easier to create employment in these areas. Today’s announcement provides some indication of the potential in this area. With implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs I am convinced that many more announcements like this will be possible in the coming years," Bruton said.
Commenting on the announcement, IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary said Datalogic ADC joins many other technology companies that have recognised the advantages of locating in Ireland.
“We look forward to working with Datalogic ADC as it grows and embeds its EMEA HQ," O’Leary said.
