Deloitte to expand in Belfast and create 338 jobs

9 Sep 2014

Global consultancy firm Deloitte is to create 338 jobs in Belfast over the next five years as it expands its operations in the city.

The new jobs will be in various areas, including technology, finance, pensions and actuarial consulting, and will have an average salary of about stg£33,000.

The Belfast Telegraph quoted Jackie Henry, senior partner of Deloitte Belfast, as having said the expansion is part of Deloitte’s strategy to develop the Belfast Delivery Centre into a full-service delivery centre for its national and international client base, drawing on “the excellent people coming out of our schools and colleges and serving companies from all over the world”.

Invest NI has offered Deloitte an employment grant of more than stg£2.5m, while the Department for Employment and Learning has offered more than stg£800,000 for pre-employment training of 60 people.

This is the second time in less than two years that Deloitte has announced jobs for Belfast. In May 2013, the company revealed the creation of 177 jobs over the next three years at its Belfast Technology Studio, on the back of a stg£1.2m investment from Invest NI in the studio’s expansion.
