Facebook recruiting 22 staff for new London base

25 Jul 2012

Facebook is now recruiting for a new engineering team based in London’s Covent Garden, to join the ranks of teams in California’s Menlo Park, New York and Seattle, and build products in key areas like mobile and platform.

Facebook sees London, a global hub with a thriving local start-up community and plenty of technical talent, as a perfect fit for its new base of engineers.

The London team, led by software engineer Philip Su, will start small as Facebook plans to first build up a strong core of engineers that will grow over time. So far, 22 open positions have been posted on the Facebook careers page, seeking staff for sales, monetisation, developer relations, software engineering, data centre design and operations, platform product marketing, recruitment and growth, engagement and mobile.

Working for Facebook comes with perks, such as paid leave for new parents, free meals and snacks, and gym membership.
