Total Defense Internet Security, a former subsidiary of CA, is to create 100 new jobs in Dublin as part of an IDA-supported investment. It is understood 21 people have been recruited so far at the company’s European Operations Hub.
IDA chief executive Barry O’Leary said the Dublin hub will be integral to the company’s global expansion plans.
Additional recruiting will be in the areas of inside sales, operations and customer support.
Total Defense is a leading developer and provider of antivirus and anti-crimeware software for both business and consumer markets. Its product lines cover every device from desktop to mobile with multi-layered solutions for endpoints, networks and groupware systems.
Positive sentiment towards Ireland
“As I travelled around the US last week talking to companies considering investing in Ireland, I was struck by two things: firstly, the positive sentiment towards Ireland and our performance over the past year; but also the extent to which these job-creating companies are interested in the future of the Euro and our place within it,” the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, said today.
“With the right moves I am convinced that we can continue to attract companies like Total Defense and create the jobs we so badly need,” Bruton added.
Total Defense protects more than 40,000 businesses and more than 4m consumers from the growing epidemic of cybercrime and malware.
Total Defense has been ranked as the sixth largest retailer of consumer security products in the US by the NPD Group in 2011 and its Internet Security Suite won a 2012 Global Excellence Award in March 2012.
