More IT jobs in Dublin, Sungard brings 50 to Irish capital

30 Jun 2015

Cloud company Sungard Availability Services has announced the creation of 50 new jobs in Dublin, with technical operations roles among the positions becoming available.

Sungard is partnering with Digital Realty Trust, meaning it can host its services at the latter’s data centre in Digital Profile Park, just outside Dublin*.

The company claims it is addressing Ireland’s ‘growing demand for agile, flexible and resilient IT services’, with the expansion enabling Sungard to invest in its workplace recovery capabilities.

IT jobs in Dublin boost

“We already work with notable brands within Ireland, such as providing Fujifilm with our private managed cloud solution, and Transics with our managed services offering,” said Gary Watson, general manager of Sungard in Ireland.

“This expansion will not only help us evolve our current services for these rapidly-growing organisations, but also enables us to attract more business from across the world – and in return, jobs – to the area.”

Customer care and sales and marketing roles will take up some of the jobs announced.

It brings June’s haul of jobs announcements in tech companies in Ireland to almost 1,200.
