An insight into working at Version 1 in Ireland (video)

26 May 2014

In our employer insights series, Jarlath Dooley, HR and operations director at Version 1, gives us an insight into what it’s like to work at one of the fastest-growing IT services companies in Western Europe.

Last year, Version 1 hired more than 100 new staff members and, this year, the target is 150. Roles available at the company span all technologies and sectors, from graduate and intern positions all the way up to senior level.

Because Version 1 offers a wide variety of services to more than 200 clients, Dooley is not seeking candidates with specific IT knowledge but, rather, a much broader understanding of IT services. “Working an in-house IT job is like practising the long-jump every day whereas, in an IT consultancy, you’re more like a decathlon athlete,” he explained.

While it holds customer-focused core values at its heart, Version 1 has also placed a lot of emphasis on building a great place to work for its employees – and has been rewarded with third-place ranking by Great Place to Work Ireland.

The Look Inside video series offers an insight into our Featured Employers and the types of roles and candidates that companies are looking for.
