Morgan McKinley launches IT division in Limerick

2 Mar 2011

Irish-owned global professional recruiter Morgan McKinley has launched an IT division in its Limerick office.

The new division will draw on the experience and expertise of Morgan McKinley’s established IT teams in Cork and Dublin to cater to the significant growth in demand for IT professionals across all industries in Limerick, Galway and the midwest.

The announcement coincides with Morgan McKinley’s latest Irish Employment Monitor, which registered a 37pc year-on-year increase in new professional job vacancies in January 2011. This was the highest volume of job vacancies recorded since October 2008 and a positive indicator for the professional jobs market at the start of the new year. The Irish Employment Monitor also reported a 35pc increase in IT job vacancies from Q310 to Q410.

Limerick’s new IT division will be led by Elaine Kennedy, who commented, “Demand for IT professionals, particularly those with experience in design and development, has been extremely high over the last 12 months and for the first time in a number of years we are seeing skills deficits in the areas of Java and .Net.

“In many instances, IT professionals will have two or three job offers on the table so we are definitely witnessing a turn-around to a more candidate-driven market,” she added.

Morgan McKinley’s Limerick IT division will recruit roles in the areas of CRM/ERP, infrastructure and support, design and development, senior appointments and business titles and QA and testing.
