Video security player breezes into Windy City with new jobs and investment.

Carlow security company Netwatch is to create 15 new jobs in Chicago as part of its US and international growth strategy.

The expansion comes as part of an 85-job expansion that will see the company grow to 250 employees.

Netwatch will seek to recruit local Chicago talent in areas such as sales and customer service. The new Chicago office will serve as a global excellence centre for the company.

A global growth story

The company selected Chicago as the north-western location for its transportation and logistics hub – built around Chicago O’Hare International Airport – as it is one of the fastest growing regions in the US.

Netwatch, which was founded in 2003, is growing fast. The company monitors in excess of 42,000 cameras at commercial and residential sites around the world from its communication hubs in Carlow and Newry.

The company deploys advanced video processing technologies to more than 3,500 businesses across the globe, including retail, warehousing, logistics and multinational corporations, and large utility companies.

The company protects properties using live audio warnings to ward off intruders. Intervention specialists direct operations remotely from the Netwatch communication hub in Carlow, visually verifying the presence of intruders, and intervene as soon as security is breached by verbally alerting the intruders they are being watched.

“This commitment has already seen 35 jobs created here, and we are delighted to continue international expansion with our new Chicago office. This location will be of huge benefit to our customers, both in Ireland and in the US, and adds 15 further jobs to our already expanding workforce.”
