New Dublin Pure Storage EMEA centre will allow it to double workforce

7 Apr 2016

Storage software solutions firm Pure Storage has announced its plans to open a new EMEA support centre in Dublin with aims of doubling its workforce of 18 by the end of 2016.

Pure Storage is a US flash-storage company whose success was pivoted around the decision last year to begin trading on the open stock market with its initial stock price being high, at around $19.

While it established its first corporate entity here in Ireland back in 2014, it has now decided to open its first major support centre for its clients outside of its native US with help from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland.

Pure Storage currently has 18 employees working within its support division here, but by the end of 2016 it aims to double its workforce.

The support staff recruited will be expected to provide deep technical expertise in 13 different languages to support its international client base using the company’s FlashArray//m software.

‘An opportunity to invest in Dublin’

Speaking of the decision to open one of its major operations here, Colin Mead, Pure Storage’s head of worldwide support, said: “The opening of the support centre is an important step in our global expansion.

“It ensures that Pure will continue to provide the best support experience possible for our customers and partners in the region across multiple languages, and will complement the work of our international teams in building our presence in the area.”

Meanwhile, James Petter, VP EMEA of Pure Storage, said: “We see the opening of this facility as an opportunity to invest in Dublin.

“We have purposely hired, and are continuing to hire, local talent to help the local economy and to reinforce Ireland’s position as a European tech hub.”
