Teamwork.com to create 50 new jobs at Cork HQ

27 Oct 2016

One of Cork’s fastest growing start-ups, Teamwork.com, is to create 50 new jobs, bringing its total workforce in the city to 120 by the end of 2017.

Out of the 50 new jobs at Teamwork.com, some 40 of them are for experienced developers in areas such as front-end, android, iOS, integration and new products.

The remaining roles to be filled will include sales, support and back-office support staff who will assist the growing team.

“We have just spent the last nine months completely rebuilding our core product, making it faster and more modern,” said Peter Coppinger, the company’s co-founder, CEO and lead developer.

“This would not have been possible without our talented team of developers. Here at Teamwork.com, developers make an impact on the product every day which impacts hundreds of thousands of people.”

The joy of SaaS

Teamwork.com develops business management applications and claims to be Ireland’s most profitable indigenous SaaS company.

Clients of Teamwork include PayPal, eBay, Disney, Forbes and Spotify.

There are over 268,000 companies using Teamwork.com products across the globe, with almost 2.8 million users.

The company was founded in 2007 by developers Peter Coppinger and Daniel Mackey.

It famously spent €500,000 just to acquire the domain name Teamwork.com.

Its product is designed to streamline processes and help teams work better together.

Turnover at the company has increased year-on-year and in 2015, the company is understood to have recorded an 88pc rate of turnover.

In January 2016, Teamwork.com switched to being an open book company where everyone can see the top-line growth figures.

“Everyone in the company should think like an owner,” Coppinger said.

“Employees have the potential to double their salary and they have input in the profit-sharing incentives. We have one key metric for each department which gives employees a sense of ownership. If we miss a quarterly target, we can make it up later.”

Enterprise Ireland CEO Julie Sinnamon applauded the company’s global ambition from the get-go.

“As a significant employer in the Cork region, it is a great pleasure to see this highly innovative SaaS company go from strength to strength, with further plans for expansion and recruitment here in Ireland,” Sinnamon added.
