Today we continue our countdown of Ireland’s top tech jobs announcement stories of 2013, from start-ups to multinationals.

It has been the year companies in sectors that are thriving – technology, science and cloud – as Ireland claws its way back from the downturn, have created jobs in their organisations.

Social media giants Facebook and Twitter, for example, announced hundreds of new jobs between them, Novartis revealed the creation of about 100 jobs, and HP proclaimed the building of a cloud R&D operation in Galway for 700 workers.

One of the fastest-growing tech companies in the world, Qualtrics, is to establish its European headquarters in Dublin with 50 new jobs, rising to 150 jobs within 36 months.

Web publishing platform player Squarespace is to create 100 new jobs in Dublin, the IDA revealed. The New York company’s platform allows anyone to easily create professional blogs, web pages, stores and galleries without touching a line of code.

38 – MicksGarage.com reveals €2.3m investment and 65 new jobs

Irish car parts and accessories e-commerce retailer MicksGarage.com is to create 65 new jobs over the next two years on the back of a €2.3m investment to expand the business.

37 – Joe.ie and Her.ie owner Maximum Media creates 25 new roles in Dublin offices

Due to the success of Joe.ie and Her.ie, online publishing company Maximum Media has announced 25 new jobs in its Dublin 8 offices, 10 of which the company is recruiting for immediately.

36 – Overstock.com to create 45 e-commerce jobs in Sligo

Utah-headquartered online discount retailer Overstock.com is to create 45 new jobs in Sligo as part of an IDA-backed investment.
