Twitter’s Dublin team doubles with 100 new jobs added

25 Sep 2013

Twitter’s Dublin base is growing with the addition of a new office in the city centre, as well as 100 new jobs in sales, HR, finance, marketing, engineering and user services.

These new positions will bring the grand total of Twitter employees in Dublin to more than 200 people, and recruitment should be complete by the end of 2014.

Twitter’s European headquarters opened in Dublin in 2011 and tonight the social network and media company will open the doors to its new Pearse Street location. There will be presentations from well-known Irish Twitter users, such as Ireland rugby captain Jamie Heaslip, broadcaster Maia Dunphy, and comedian Colm O’Regan (the man behind @irishmammies).

“In less than two years we have gone from one employee to more than 100 people in our Dublin office, with staff working across more than 10 business functions,” said Stephen McIntyre, Twitter’s managing director in Ireland.

“Our users tell us that Twitter brings them closer to their interests and passions. We’re also delighted to be working with thousands of businesses to help them find their voice online and connect with their customers in an engaging and entertaining way. This makes Twitter a tremendous place for talented professionals to make a difference and develop their careers,” he added.

Recruitment has already begun for more than 20 roles in legal, HR, sales, marketing and engineering.
