Launched last year, technology recruitment event UpStarter has more than quadrupled in size.
This time last year, a new recruitment event was launched, designed to connect start-ups, founders and jobseekers. When it first ran in February 2016, it hosted 300 people.
The event, named UpStarter, went so well that an April event was already being planned when the February one kicked off.
Another event was hosted in June, followed by one in October last year, which received 1,500 applications to attend.
UpStarter, which is sponsored by Accenture, will take place again this March at The Mansion House in Dublin.
UpStarter appeals to start-ups and jobseekers, but also to founders in the process of setting up a company who might be looking for a co-founder.
The first three UpStarter events were held at 4 Dame Lane in Dublin, but it moved to Powerscourt Townhouse Centre in October to accommodate more attendees.
Due to the overwhelming demand last year, the event had to move again. “We had a waitlist of 700 people at our last event in October so we’ve moved to a much larger venue to accommodate everyone,” said Sean Judge, UpStarter director.
Several companies have already signed up to the tech recruitment event, including Ding, GoCar, Showtime Analytics and FoodCloud.
The companies that will have stands are hiring for a variety of positions including AI experts, java developers, product managers and customer experience executives.

While many recruitment events target new graduates, UpStarter is aimed at the more experienced jobseeker or those looking for a change in career, as well as budding entrepreneurs.
The next UpStarter event will take place on 2 March at The Mansion House in Dublin at 6pm and you can register here.
