US IT firm to create 33 jobs at new development centre in Belfast

US-based information technology consulting firm Oxford Consulting Group (OCG) Inc is to create 33 jobs with the establishment of a development centre in Belfast, its first operation outside the US.

Invest Northern Ireland is offering £330,000 in support to the company, which specialises in services and solutions for supply chain management, business to business integration, and IT staffing.

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said the investment has been won for Northern Ireland by a combination of factors, such as the availability of talented IT staff.

“Invest NI worked hard to ensure that OCG was aware of all the benefits of setting up in Northern Ireland, including our cost-competitive environment, technically advanced infrastructure and the support on offer,” said Foster, who added that the new jobs will pay salaries more than double the private-sector average.

They will also contribute around £1.4m a year to the economy.

“Investments like this demonstrate that despite the challenging global economic climate, businesses that can offer high quality services focused on customer needs will continue to grow.”

Michelle Kerr, founder, chairwoman and president of Oxford Consulting Group, said the company has been impressed with the quality of Northern Ireland’s offering and with the support Invest NI has made available to the firm.

“The Belfast operation will play a key role in supporting our projected growth, which will see us double revenue by 2015,” Kerr said.
