US technology firm announces Galway jobs

26 Oct 2010

A leading US telecoms company has announced the creation of 50 new jobs in its Galway operations.

US company Synchronoss Technologies Inc, a provider of on-demand transaction management software platforms, has announced the expansion of its international operations in Europe by opening a research and development (R&D) and operations centre in Galway’s Parkmore business park.

IDA Ireland will support the centre.

Strategically important

Welcoming today’s announcement, IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary said: “Eight of the world’s top 10 ICT multinationals have already recognised the benefits of locating strategically important operations in Ireland and today’s announcement is further evidence that Ireland continues to be a major player in winning investment from highly innovative companies.

“IBM’s 2010 global location trends report published last week positions Ireland in the top tier countries globally for attracting inward investment in R&D and services, such as today’s announcement by Synchronoss.”

Business not conducted in the US will be run from the Galway operation and recruitment has begun. The company is seeking developers for engineering, software and technology divisions.
