YapStone International Ltd to create 120 jobs in new Co Louth headquarters

25 Oct 2012

YapStone International Ltd, a provider of web and mobile payment solutions and processing for targeted vertical markets, is to create 120 jobs at its new EMEA headquarters in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The new jobs will be in the areas of customer support, research and development, software engineering, finance and accounting. Recruitment for these positions will begin immediately and interested applicants may apply online.

Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, made the jobs announcement in California, where he and IDA Ireland CEO Barry O’Leary met with YapStone founders Matthew Golis and Tom Villante. The announcement comes as part of a week-long programme of events with current and prospective IDA clients in Seattle, Washington; San Francisco, California; Los Angeles, California; and Silicon Valley.

“A key part of the Government’s plans for jobs and growth is to attract more multinational companies to Ireland, and e-commerce and payments technology offers particular potential for employment creation,” said Bruton.

“YapStone is a market leader in this sector and a fast-growing company, and their decision to locate in Ireland for the first time, to establish their EMEA headquarters in Drogheda with the creation of 120 jobs, is great news for the north-east and for the country.”

Investment support

The investment is supported by the Ireland’s Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland, the Irish Government agency responsible for the attraction and development of foreign investment in Ireland.

“The payments industry, encompassing e-commerce solutions and payments technology, has been identified by IDA as a key sector for growth,” O’Leary said.

“The fact that YapStone has chosen Ireland as its first base outside of the US is another example of the significant benefits that we offer to US companies looking to expand into the EMEA region.”

Villante said international expansion is a top priority for YapStone this year.

“The core markets we serve – such as vacation home rentals, apartment rentals and non-profit organisations – are borderless. We see tremendous opportunities to leverage our experience and success in the US market to significantly grow our business internationally,” Villante said.

Golis added that with YapStone’s new headquarters in Ireland, “we have a strong gateway to the European market, and look forward to working with the Irish Government and IDA to create jobs in Ireland for many years to come.”
