Google Play users in the UK, France and Germany will be able to download, rent and buy TV, movie and music content from Google Play on 13 November.

The internet giant apologised for an earlier blunder announcing more countries will have the service on the same day.

“We’re sorry for an earlier post that said we’re launching in more countries on 11/13, but stay tuned as we’re bringing Google Play to more countries all the time,” Google said in a Google+ post.

In recent weeks, Google’s mobile boss Andy Rubin revealed Google’s new hardware line-up – three new Android 4.2 (Jellybean) Nexus devices in small (an LG smartphone), medium (a 7-inch tablet with added HSPA+ mobile connectivity) and large (a 10-inch Nexus device manufactured in partnership with Samsung).

Rubin also revealed the company has added new content, such as movies and TV shows from 20th Century Fox to Google Play, as well as magazine deals with titles like People, Time, InStyle and others.

At the time, Rubin said that as well as the UK, France and Germany, Italy and Spain would also receive the service, with up to 20,000 free songs. However, that is not likely to happen on 13 November.

We’ve reached out to local representatives of Google to ascertain when the additional content will be available to users in Ireland and other smaller European countries.

UPDATE:

Google’s representatives have just responded: "While Google is keen to launch Music in more countries it doesn’t have anything to announce in relation to Ireland at this time."
