Black Friday and Cyber Monday: How much was spent? (Infographic)

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are so last week, we know, but after all the hype, was much money actually spent on the two days?

The short answer is yes, with both Black Friday and Cyber Monday breaking records in the US.

Adobe found that $2.72bn of goods was sold online on Black Friday, while sales on Cyber Monday topped $3bn – some truly astonishing figures.

Adobe’s research found that, on Black Friday, Samsung 4K TVs, the Apple iPad Air 2, the Microsoft Xbox One, the Apple iPad Mini and Sony’s PS4 were the most popular products, with Lego products also in high demand.

But how did sales in the UK and Ireland compare?

Well, there was a huge jump in sales in both countries compared to 2014, according to this infographic by Realex Payments, and more than one-third of those purchasing did so on mobile.
