Airbnb offer: €100 bonus for new Dublin hosts

8 Aug 2016

Airbnb’s push for Dublin hosts has seen the company offer a €100 bonus for new hosts, consisting of cash, not credit.

In a partnership with Siliconrepublic.com, Airbnb’s new offer will see all new hosts that use this link to set up their accounts receive €100 – in cash.

Exclusively for new hosts in Dublin, the €100 bonus is transferable as cash and does not have to be used as credit on Airbnb. All payments will be made before 30 September.

The push for a greater presence in the Irish capital comes a couple of months after the company’s new 36,500sq ft office was opened in Silicon Docks.

The new office was required after the short-term renting company quickly outgrow its previous base at The Watermarque Building in Dublin 4.

While The Warehouse will serve as its new international hub and second-largest office worldwide, the previous office in The Watermarque Building will continue to operate.

Last December, Airbnb revealed that the company’s overall ‘economy’ employs more than 2,000 people in Ireland, with €202m worth of activity throughout the year.

Around 330,000 guests used Airbnb sites in Ireland in 2015, through 7,200 hosts. According to Airbnb, the typical host earned €2,600 a year by sharing their space for 46 nights a year.

This new Dublin promotion is run in conjunction with Siliconrepublic.com, which will receive support throughout the deal. The offer expires on Wednesday 31 August.
