Another Apple tablet in the works?

2 Feb 2010

Barely a week after Apple introduced its iPad tablet computer to the world comes talk the company is already at work on a second tablet device.

TechCrunch has reported that the information comes from “a good source,” which was actually a second-hand source.

Rumour has it that Apple is far along production on a second tablet that is bigger than the new iPad and more like a Mac than an iPhone. How big? All the way up to 15.4 inches, the same size for one version of the MacBook Pro.

The new tablet would also reportedly run a version of OS X closer to the traditional version that runs on Macs.

A larger tablet would also probably have a different set uses, such as being more of a replacement for a straightforward laptop or desktop computer. As a result, it would also likely come with an external keyboard/stand or some sort. The iPad offers such an accessory, but in the case of a larger tablet, it may be more of an integral part of using the device.
