Apple prices shuffle to fly off shelves

While by no means a throwaway product the iPod shuffle, the smallest in the iPod family, is now being priced at a cheap and cheerful €45, while holding 1GB of music.

The shuffle is only half a cubic inch in volume and weighs a mere half an ounce. The little aluminium cube has a handy lapel clip and comes in five colours including the Product Red special edition which donates money to AIDS research for every unit sold.

The shuffle is also available in a new 2GB version priced at €65.

“At just €45, the iPod shuffle is the most affordable iPod ever,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice-president of worldwide iPod product marketing.

“The new 2GB model lets music lovers bring even more songs everywhere they go in the impossibly small iPod shuffle.”
