Apple pulls WikiLeaks app from App Store

21 Dec 2010

The iPhone and iPad app for the controversial whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks has been removed from Apple’s App Store.

The US$1.99 app let users view WikiLeaks content and follow WikiLeaks on its Twitter account.

There has been no word yet from Apple or the app’s developer on the removal of the app from the App Store.

WikiLeaks has come under the spotlight recently, what with the website publishing US embassy cables, and the arrest and release on bail of its founder, Julian Assange.
