Apple says it has resolved crashing apps bug

6 Jul 2012

Apple says it has fixed a bug that was causing apps downloaded from the App Store to crash when launched.

Both The Verge and All Things Digital report that the technology giant said it had a temporary issue that began with a server that generated a Fairplay DRM (digital rights management) code for apps that were downloaded.

Apple says the issue has been rectified and doesn’t expect it to happen again

The apps were crashing on iOS and OS X machines. Users are urged to delete the apps that were crashing and try downloading them again.

Instapaper creator Marco Arment has compiled a list of the apps that were crashing on his blog Marco.org.
