Carphone Warehouse to sell ‘triple play’ TV services

6 Jul 2009

The Carphone Warehouse will begin selling a triple play package including digital TV, phone and high-speed broadband in stores nationwide after striking a retail deal with Chorus NTL.

Available from all 76 Carphone Warehouse stores across the country, the Chorus NTL Triple Play package offers three services from one provider and removes the need to pay high line rental to a third party.

Chorus NTL is a subsidiary of cable provider UPC. CEO Robert Dunn said the partnership with Carphone Warehouse represents a new retail experience for consumers and a first-time high street presence for the company.

“Families up and down the country have made our broadband, digital TV and phone service central to their entertainment and communications needs.

“By increasing our high street presence, we’ll be able to drive further growth while communicating the benefits of our product range.

“This expansion will reinforce Chorus NTL’s presence at the heart of communities across Ireland and provide a valuable contact point for existing and potentially new customers.”

The Chorus NTL Triple Play package is available from the Carphone Warehouse and is priced from €49 a month with the first three months available at half price for the month of July.

Stephen Mackarel, CEO, The Carphone Warehouse, said, “We are delighted to announce the availability of this unique service to The Carphone Warehouse.

“The introduction of Digital TV is a first for us. We pride ourselves on being the leader in home and mobile broadband with the widest range and best value in the country and the Chorus NTL Triple Play service further underlines this.

“To celebrate the new launch our customers can avail of the service at half price in the first 3 months of signing up.  We look forward to working with Chorus NTL in 2009 and beyond to bring the best digital services to our customers,” Mackarel added.
