5 Feb 2010

Craig Newmark is founder of Craigslist, which is generally regarded as the website that fundamentally reinvented the classified advertising business model.

The site, which had an estimated turnover of US$100 million in 2009, now receives more traffic than either eBay or Amazon, attracting 47 million unique visitors per month.

Newmark, who is a regular keynote speaker at the world’s largest technology conferences, was a speaker at the Dublin Web Summit 2.0. He talked about the Craigslist business model, creating trust and verification on the web – and Harry Potter.
