A second Facebook Developer Garage is being planned for June in Ireland, and the organisers have pointed out that Irish entrepreneurs have an opportunity to capitalise on a US$500m revenue opportunity.
In a call issued for speakers for the next Developer Garage, Fergus Burns of Nooked said that the Facebook Developer Garage Ireland Group is seeking speakers on subjects from Facebook Applications and Facebook Connect to Facebook APIs and Marketing with Facebook.
The last garage event attracted over 100 developers.
In recent weeks, Facebook revealed that it is planning to allow third-party software developers to access user data to build next-generation software applications and services.
In his call for speakers for the proposed June event, Burns pointed to a recent VentureBeat article that said Facebook platform developers could see US$500m in revenue this year, based on the opportunity presented by 200 million users.
