Google+ for iPad arrives in the App Store, along with an update for iPhone

11 Jul 2012

Announced at Google I/O, Google+ for iPad is now available to download from the App Store. Packaged as a universal iOS app, the new release also brings features like Hangouts and Google+ Events to the iPhone.

Already rolled out for Android devices, Google+ version 3.0 brings the social network’s highly visual new look to the iPad, with larger images, crisper text and interactivity that complements the tablet experience.

Users can pinch and expand posts in-stream to add comments, use two fingers to drag and share posts, and stream Hangouts to their TV using AirPlay.

Also, remember the introduction of Google+ Events at I/O? Well, now these can be created and managed from both iOS mobile devices.

Comments, photos and guests can all be managed from the new iPhone and iPad apps, and past events you created and went to will also be available to view if you feel like reminiscing.

Google+ Hangouts is also available with the new app and lets users set a ringing notification for when a friend wants to invite them to a Hangout.
