Google Nexus S hits US stores

16 Dec 2010

The Google Nexus S is now on sale in the US, becoming the first smartphone to run Android 2.3 (Gingerbread.) There’s still no word on an Irish release date as of yet.

The sequel to the Nexus is available from US retailer Best Buy.

It can be bought unlocked for $529.99 with no service plan or for $199.99 on T-Mobile.

The phone features a 4-inch Contour display and a 1GHz Hummingbird processor.

It offers front and rear-facing cameras and, with the upgrade to Gingerbread, comes NFC compatibility, upgraded apps, improved copy-and-paste functionality, an improved keyboard and much more.

The Google Nexus S will be released in the UK in four days. There’s still no word on a release for Ireland and at this stage, we probably won’t see it until the next year.
