Grimms’ Puss in Boots gets the StoryToys 3D storybook treatment

13 Dec 2012

Interactive book publisher StoryToys adds to its collection of Grimms’ fairy tales with its take on the classic story of Puss in Boots, available now from the App Store and Google Play.

Apparently the funniest story in StoryToys’ collection yet, Puss in Boots joins Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel in the range of 3D interactive pop-up book apps.

StoryToys focuses on bringing fairy tales to the digital world while retaining the substance and tactility of real books. To do this, these storybook apps merge 3D game design with traditional storytelling, providing a full 3D experience that’s like having a real book.

Illustrated with colourful imagery, Puss in Boots features 33 pages of text and nine interactive 3D pop-up scenes with simple tasks and games.

Young ones can explore the ogre’s castle through a maze of doors, solve a ball and cup puzzle, navigate the king’s boat away from monsters and pirates, help Puss in Boots catch butterflies for the king’s garden, and more.

There are three modes – Read to Me, Read it Myself and Autoplay modes – and professional narration is provided in four languages.
