HeyStaks releases iPad and Android tablet app

27 Sep 2011

Irish social search start-up HeyStaks has launched its community-based search app for iPad and Android tablets

The HeyStaks app is based on the premise that people sharing common interests will generate the most personalised search results. It’s powered by search communities which users join based on specific interests.

After searching for a topic, users tap to join the most appropriate community based on that subject. They are then shown targeted content that users with similar interests have searched for before, while identities remain anonymous.

Along with its reputation-based search model, HeyStaks also features Google and other search results, displaying them in a newspaper-style interface. HeyStaks will feature more third party content sources in the future.

Heystaks is available now for the iPad and Android tablets. It already has iPhone and Android smartphone apps out.

HeyStaks was founded in 2008 and has offices in NovaUCD and San Francisco. It recently made it to the finals of the Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2011 competition.
