Hitachi has apparently finished developing its 3TB hard disk drive (HDD), and the drive has made an appearance on the company’s website.

The Deskstar 7K3000 boasts an eco-friendly, halogen-free design and power-efficient operation, 7,200 RPM performance and has been designed with consumer and commercial computers in mind.

In terms of the competition, Seagate (the Barracuda Green 2TB Hard Drive with 5,900 RPM) and Western Digital (with its range of My Book Hard Drives) come closest.

The Deskstar 7K3000 is also available in 2TB and 1.5TB models.
