Hosting365 wins IEDR award

1 May 2007

Hosting365 has been awarded the IE Domain Registry (IEDR) Annual Achievement Award for the second year running. The awards recognises .ie resellers who have made the most significant contribution to the growth in domains and to the development of the .ie namespace.

Hosting 365 also had the most .ie registration volume growth for each of the four quarters of 2006, adding over 3,100 new registrations in the year. This was 40pc ahead of the nearest reseller.

Hosting365 also commended IEDR for investing in customer service and in automated systems.

Speaking at the presentation of the Award, David Curtin, chief executive of the IEDR, said: “Hosting365’s focus on driving growth in .ie domains has made a major contribution to maintaining the position of the .ie domain name as the number one domain name in Ireland with a 40pc share of the market. 2006 was our strongest year to date, with .ie registrations up 30pc on the same period last year, thereby growing the number of domain names to over 75,000.”

Communications Minister Noel Dempsey TD, presenting the award, said: “The .ie namespace is an important resource for developing e-commerce in Ireland as it provides businesses and consumers alike with confidence to transact business online. We can take great pride in the growth and success of .ie particularly in light of the fact that a recent independent international survey named it the second safest country code domain in the world.”
