Microsoft Windows Phone 7 (WP7) has been compared to AOL by HTC president of the Americas, Jason McKenzie, insisting that WP7 is “comparable to an AOL-type approach”.

Speaking at this week’s Open Mobile Summit in San Francisco, US, McKenzie compared the operating system to AOL’s approach in a context of simplistic navigability for users that were just getting into smartphone technology and said that for anyone going from a feature phone to a smartphone, WP7 is ideal.

Windows Phone 7 is a mobile operating system developed by Microsoft and is the successor to the Windows Mobile platform.
