Irish Sports Council goes live with high-performance athletes’ website

27 Jul 2012

Just in time for Olympics 2012, the Irish Sports Council has gone live with a new website that has dedicated pages for all high-performance athletes funded by the Irish public.

Built by content management software provider pTools, the new website includes the athlete’s personal profile, funding, social networking links like Twitter and Facebook, as well as the athlete’s individual performance records, achievements and their personal bests.

Visitors can review the athletes’ social network feeds, enabling visitors to follow, support and engage with the athletes on their Olympic journeys and beyond.

The site lists details for more than 130 athletes from more than 20 sports and includes athletes such as Katie Taylor, Derval O’Rourke, Ailish McSweeney, Alistair Cragg and Kenneth Egan.

“The site is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to follow individual athletes at the London Olympics and beyond to future competitions,” said Keith Wood, CEO of pTools.
